Adult Ministry

Men

VBS SlideOur men have opportunities to serve our community and beyond through Baptist Men. Baptist Men is a North Carolina missions focused group that meets needs of local communities after disasters such as tornado, flood and hurricane. Our men have also met the needs of local residents with wheelchair ramps, roof repair and replacements, and more.

In addition to Baptist Men, Mt. Carmel organizes an annual Men’s Wildgame Fellowship and Dinner. This fellowship is open to all men and boys in the community. The men cook and serve many varieties of wild game and fish, and there are games and shooting competitions as well as a man focused devotion.

Most recently, our Mt. Carmel men upgraded our water slide for VBS family night. All of the kids are able to come out and enjoy a night of fun on the waterslide with their family.

Women

Our Mt. Carmel women call themselves Women on Mission (WOM). They see themselves as sisters, servants and succourers just like Phoebe in Romans 16. They meet quarterly for dinner, fellowship, prayer, and to discuss upcoming service opportunities. Our WOM have fed some of the local first responders and provided them with a special first responder Bible.  Upcoming service opportunities include breakfast, lunch and devotion for our local high school football team and a meal for our veterans at Veteran’s Day.

Most recently our WOM hosted a senior adult craft and lunch fellowship where they painted their own teapot planter.

Senior Adults

At Mt. Carmel we are blessed with people of all ages. We have a great mix of senior adults, some retired and some still working. In addition to a Sunday school class for our seniors, Mt. Carmel has a senior adult fellowship committee that plans luncheons, activities and day trips. Most recently, some of our seniors took a trip to Mt. Airy and visited Mayberry.
